Can you believe we’re already halfway through 2025? Whether you’re kicking goals, lost sight of them, or hit a few bumps along the way — now’s the perfect time to hit pause, reflect and adjust to help you keep moving forward.
What was on your health wish list at the start of the year?
At the start of the year, you may have set goals to move more, eat healthier, reduce stress, or take better care of your mental health. These are all fantastic intentions that can make a huge difference in your overall wellbeing. But here’s the truth: some goals take longer to achieve than we expect, and that’s okay. Progress isn’t always a straight path — there are ups and downs, setbacks, and breakthroughs. What matters most is that you keep trying and don’t lose sight of why you started.
Winter is a great season to pause and regroup
The cooler months naturally encourage us to slow down and reflect, giving us the chance to reset our focus. Instead of feeling discouraged if things aren’t going our way, use this time to reassess what’s working and what could be adjusted. Maybe your goal of ‘moving more’ can shift to a daily 10-minute walk, or ‘eating better’ might mean adding more seasonal veggies to your meals.
Remember, small changes add up over time. If you’re feeling stuck or need a fresh spark, here are some goal-setting tips to help you reset:
- Start small: Instead of ‘move more’ try ‘walk 15 minutes a day.’ For extra encouragement, visit the 10,000 Steps Program. This program makes movement a fun, achievable habit.
- Be specific: Replace ‘eat better’ with ‘cook one healthy dinner at home each week.’
- Celebrate wins: Every healthy choice matters. Acknowledge your effort!
Boost your winter wellbeing
Beyond goals, winter invites us to nurture our whole selves. Perhaps it’s starting your day with a calming yoga stretch or taking a brisk walk outside while the air is still fresh and crisp. Let your meals be cosy celebrations of seasonal goodness—think rich, warming soups brimming with vibrant veggies, hearty grains, and tender proteins that fuel and comfort you.
And don’t forget your mind—treat it kindly with moments of mindfulness, meditation, or simply giving yourself permission to pause and breathe. This winter, make space for those little acts of self-care that add up to big wins for your wellbeing.
