My health for life is delivered in six coaching sessions, at a relaxed pace, over 14 to 18 weeks — with qualified Health Coaches there to help you along the way. Plus, there are tools and resources to help you keep going after the coaching, So you can maintain your healthier habits. Taking it one step at a time makes it easier. It’s important to remember that you’re in control, and My health for life is here to support you. You choose the way you interact with the initiative. You set your goal and make a step-by-step plan, with expert support and guidance. You make the change you want to see happen in your life. We explore your motivation and look at ways to support you.

You decide what works best for you.
Group-based Health coaching in face-to-face sessions is available across Queensland – delivered by local health professionals in your community. They offer a positive and supportive environment to share and learn as a group, while working on your own personal health goals.
You will have 6 sessions with your group over 14-18 weeks. The first session is a one-on-one appointment with your Health Coach, where they will gain an understanding of your needs and goals. Sessions run fortnightly, with 4 weeks between sessions 5 and 6.
Health coaching is a more flexible option, allowing you to participate in the initiative at a time that works for you.
You will have 6 appointments with your Health Coach over 14-18 weeks. Sessions 1 to 5 are held fortnightly, with a 4-week break between sessions 5 and 6, when you will put into practice what you’ve learned.
We also offer culturally tailored group sessions for:
- First Nations People
- Pacific Islanders
- Mandarin & Cantonese
- Vietnamese Speaking Communities
- Arabic Speaking Communities
Our sessions for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Communities (CALD) are delivered by our Healthier Queensland Alliance partner Ethnic Communities Council of Queensland (ECCQ). All CALD sessions are delivered by qualified, bilingual multicultural health workers and are tailored to meet the needs of our participants.
On Track is the online offering in the My health for life initiative, designed for those seeking a short, self-paced learning option to maintain their current health and well-being. The online Health Check will determine if this option is available to you.
It has helped me lose a total of 16kg and developed a much more positive and active approach to life in the last 6 months. I would love the broader population take on this challenge and reach out, grow, use the opportunity to maximise their health and discover new ways to grow a healthier community and state.
